Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Figly ("we," "us," or "our") provides a parental content control application for Android TV devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Figly web dashboard and Android TV app (collectively, the "Service").
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Figly is designed for parents and guardians to manage content for their children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- We do not collect personal information from children. Children interact only with the TV app, which does not require an account or collect identifying information.
- Child profile names and birth years are entered by the parent and stored in the parent's account. We treat this as parental information, not children's information.
- The TV app stores viewing preferences (favorites, watch history) locally on the device only. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
- We do not serve advertising to children. Figly contains no ads.
- Parents can delete all child profile data at any time from the Settings page.

- Family name — a display name you choose for your family
- Child profile names and birth years — entered by you to set up content filters
- Filter preferences — your content filtering rules (age ratings, tags, providers)
- Device names — identifying names for paired Android TV devices
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses (unless voluntarily provided)
- Location data
- Viewing history or watch time (stored locally on device only)
- Contact lists or social media accounts

How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and verify your identity
- To pair your Android TV devices to your family account
- To apply your content filters on paired TV devices
- To send crash reports for app stability (no personal data included)
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), protected by Firebase security rules that restrict access to authenticated account owners only. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (Google Cloud encryption).
The content catalog (list of shows and movies) is publicly hosted on GitHub Pages and contains no personal information.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time:
- Delete a child profile — removes the child's name, birth year, and associated filters from our servers
- Unpair a device — removes the device record from your account
- Delete your account — contact us to permanently delete all family data, child profiles, filters, and device records
Local data on the TV device (favorites, watch history, PIN) can be cleared by uninstalling the Figly app or resetting the device.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication — handles SMS verification (Google's privacy policy)
- Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reports in release builds only
- GitHub Pages — hosts the public content catalog (no user data)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data we store about your family
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data (child profiles, devices, filters, or entire account)
- Withdraw consent for data processing by deleting your account
